Both sweet and slightly bitter, this flavour is reminiscent of aniseed, with herbaceous and minty nuances. In confectionery, licorice is used to create black candies, popular in Northern Europe and Scandinavia. It also flavors drinks, such as Pastis or some Black Sambuca variety.
